The information that Nagorno- Karabakh’s pavilion at the World Travel Market has been closed due to Azerbaijan’s efforts is a blatant lie.
ArmInfo has been told by sources close to the diplomatic circles that, like previously, this year the pavilion presenting Nagorno-Karabakh is included in the Armenian pavilion and is operating in its natural regime, so, the information disseminated by Azerbaijan is a blatant lie.
To note, earlier Acting Head of the Azeri Foreign Ministry Press Service Hikmet Hajiyev reported that to prevent presentation of Artsakh’s pavilion at the Nov 3-6 World Travel Market in London, the Embassy of Azerbaijan applied to the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office and to Reed Exhibitions, the organizer of World Travel Market. The organizer of the exhibition has allegedly stated that Karabakh will by no means be represented in a separate pavilion.
Earlier on Monday, the National Competitiveness Foundation of Armenia told ArmInfo that 5 Armenian travel agencies will represent Armenia at World Travel Market annual exhibition, which will take place in London, UK from November 3-6. This year, an estimated number of 5000 international exhibitors representing 186 countries and regions and more than 50,000 global travel professionals are expected to take part in the exhibition. The cultural, historical and Christian heritage of Armenia and Artsakh will be presented in travel guides and maps in English during the exhibition. The participation in this leading exhibition aims to promote the tourism of Armenia and Artsakh in the European market and contribute to the growth of tourist inflows.
World Travel Market – the leading global event for the travel industry – is a vibrant must attend business-to- business event presenting a diverse range of destinations and industry sectors to UK and International travel professionals. It is a unique opportunity for the whole global travel trade to meet, network, negotiate and conduct business. Last year the contracts concluded at the exhibition amounted to almost 2 bln pounds. This year the expected amount of transactions is estimated at 2.5 billion pounds.
