The Caroline Cox Rehabilitation Centre in Stepanakert was established in 1998 with the support of Baroness Caroline Cox. The aim was assisting soldiers and civilians wounded in the Artsakh war. Over the years, it expanded and began to provide rehabilitation services to all those with physical and mental disabilities in Artsakh.
Being the only one in its service, the centre has no age limit for patients. The centre has a children’s health department, as well as a day care and treatment center for children diagnosed with autism. It operates a Home Visit department, the beneficiaries of which are more than 200 people with severe disabilities.
The Caroline Cox Rehabilitation Centre needs, among other things, professional equipment and program support. One of the priority issues is the reconstruction and renovation of the center building.
During her regular work with the Caroline Cox Rehabilitation Centre, Azatuhi Simonyan, Advisor to the President of the Republic of Artsakh, presented the current needs of the center to many organizations, including Armenian individuals from Diaspora. At the suggestion of Azatuhi Simonyan, the Political Alliance «Armenia», getting acquainted with the problems of the center, decided to transfer the bonuses received from the National Assembly deputies to the centre’s account. In honor of the Political Alliance «Armenia» the deputies» bonuses in total 10.740․000 AMD were transferred to the account of the Rehabilitation Centre which will serve the purpose of acquiring new professional property and necessary medical supplies for the center.
