Armenia to be Guest of Honor at Minsk Book Fair

Book publishers of Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Germany, France, Great Britain, the US and other countries will participate in a book fair in Minsk.

Armenia will be a guest of honor at the 23rd“Culture” Minsk International Book Fair, reports Belarus’s Belta.by agency, according to sputnik.co.am.

The international book fair will be held from February 10 to 14.

In addition to the exhibition of the best samples of national and foreign publishing houses, there will also be a wide cultural and business event. One of the main topics of the book fair is the Year of Culture and preparations for the remarkable event dedicated to the 500th anniversary of native printing.

There will also be coverage of the 25th anniversary of the CIS, the 30th anniversary of Chernobyl, the 70th anniversary of the UN, the 400th birth anniversary of William Shakespeare, as well as the birth anniversaries of Maxim Bogdanovich, Ivan Shamyakin, Kondrat Krapiva, Ivan Melezhay and Vladimir Mulyavin.

The book fair will also include the conduct of the 2nd International Literary Symposium titled “The Writer and Time: Succession in Literature” with the participation of renowned guest writers from near and far. There will also be a seminar for young literary critics.

The book fair will also include an award ceremony for the winners of the 55th “Culture of Books” national competition. Foreign publishers will present their new literary projects. There will be meetings with well-known Belarusian and foreign authors, as well as a book sale. The event is organized by the Ministry of Information and the executive committee of Minsk.
