President of the Republic of Armenia Serge Sarksian attended on October 8 the events organized on the occasion of the 2700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Department of Public Relations and Mass Media of the Office to the President of the Republic of Armenia, President Sargsian visited Vazken Sarksian square adjacent to Saint Hripsimé Church where he participated in the opening ceremony of V. Sarksian memorial and laid flowers at commander’s memorial.
Echmiadzin Mayor Garen Krikorian told in the interview with “Armenpress” that the concept to create the commander’s memorial in the longest street of Echmiadzin came long ago, and he is happy that the memorial is opened on the occasion of Echmiadzin day.
President Sarkisan visited the newly renovated art school after Yeghishe Tadevosian in the framework of the 2700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin. President familiarized himself with the activities carried out and school’s conditions intended for 300 pupils. The President of the Republic of Armenia paid tribute to the memory of the victims of the Artsakh Liberation War, laid flowers at the heroes’ memorial.
President Serj Sarksian participated in the solemn sitting dedicated to the 2700th anniversary of Etchmiadzin held at Etchmiadzin municipality. The residents of Etchmiadzin, many guests, honorary citizens of Etchmiadzin took part in the meeting.
