After a year and a half of torture and interrogation, the fabricated and false trial of the military and political leaders of the Republic of Artsakh is currently underway, in conditions of gross violations of the rights of the accused and the complete violation of the relevant UN conventions. Their exhausted and tormented faces testify to the physical and mental torture and the suffering they endured on a regular basis, and Ruben Vardanyan’s hunger strike suggests the despair of someone facing death… Meanwhile, the Armenian authorities are absolutely silent, indifferent and even contemptuous.
The Council of Founders of the Armenian National Ramkavar Party cannot tolerate this shameful situation, which is directed not only against the oppressed leadership of Artsakh, but also against the Armenian people and Armenian statehood.
Expressing its support for the Armenian hostages held in Baku dungeons, the Council of Founders of the National Ramkavar Party demands from the Armenian authorities:
1- To put the issue of the release of the Armenian hostages on the negotiating table with Baku as an unequivocal precondition.
2- To mobilize its entire diplomatic corps, both in Armenia and abroad, for the release of our prisoners of war.
3- To submit claims to all relevant international instances through all judicial state bodies for the immediate release of our prisoners of war with effective intervention.
At the same time, the Council of Founders of the Armenian National Ramkavar Party calls on all segments and organizations of the entire Armenian people to emerge from the abyss of indifference and, through all forms and means of protest, pressure and publicity, undertake the work of saving the lives and dignity of our compatriots as soon as possible. And always remember that the ongoing court case in Baku, in the person of our prisoners of war, is directed against all of us, against our people and our nation-state.
