On March 12th and 13th , an Armenian government ministerial delegation headed by Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Karen Karapetyan will be in Lebanon on an official working visit.
Upon arrival on the 12th of March 2018, the Prime Minister first headed to the Office of Government of the Lebanese Republic, where he met with the Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, after which he paid his official visit to the Presidential Palace to meet with President of the Republic of Lebanon Michel Aoun, following which Karen Karapetyan met with the speaker of the Parliament Nabih Berri and concluding the schedule of the day at the Antelias Catholicosate, with a meeting with His Holiness Aram I Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia.
The purpose of the visit and the ensuing meetings is to discuss prospects of strengthening bilateral economic relations and further develop the current level of mutual discussions for cooperation in the fields of tourism, agriculture, IT, jewelry, pharmaceuticals and culture.
Armenia is also keen to create new opportunities for Lebanese businesses to be able to penetrate into Eurasian Eonomic Union markets benefiting through the Armenian business infrastructure, commercial insight and local consumer knowhow as well as existing experience / presence within the market.
Concludingly, the long term plan between the two governments is to encourage and create the groundworks for Armenian-Lebanese investment funds to finance joint projects which benefit both countries and their respective business communities.
