Italian conductor of 24/04 Orchestra Gianluca Marcianò will conduct during two performances of Armenian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan. As “Armenpress” was informed by the Information and Communication Department of Armenian National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet after Alexander Spendiaryan the audience will enjoy Giuseppe Verdi’s “La traviata” on November 12 and “Il trovatore” on November 19. The operas will be conducted by Gianluca Marcianò.
Gianluca Marcianò is one of the best friends of the Armenian people who always uses his possibilities to contribute to the development of ArmenianItalian cultural ties. The Italian conductor gives concerts both in Armenia as well as the Artsakh Republic. Gianluca Marcianò has participated in Aram Khachaturian International Competition as an Honorary guest several times. On April 24 he also participated in the concert of the international orchestra organized in the framework of the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Gianluca Marcianò took part in Artskah premiere of Verdi’s “Requiem” on September 1.
Italian conductor Gianluca Marcianò has been increasingly in demand since his operatic debut with Croatian National Opera in 2007. He is Musical Director and Principal Conductor of the Tbilisi State Opera & Ballet Theatre in Georgia and Artistic Director of the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut.
Since taking over the theatre in Tbilisi in 2011, Marcianò’s operatic performances in Georgia have included La Forza del Destino, Cavalleria Rusticana, Nabucco, Attila, Il Trovatore, Mitridate, Re di Ponto and Aida, as well as concerts with Andrea Bocelli in Georgia and Nina Ananiashvili at the Avery Fisher Hall, New York.
Marcianò’s engagements in the 2013/14 season included Ernani at Lithuanian National Opera, Madam Butterfly for English National Opera and La traviata for Grange Park Opera.
