ARMENIAN NATIONAL MUSIC AND FOLKLORE ENCHANTS BANGKOK
On Thursday, 8th of October 2015, the Consulate of the Republic of Armenia to the Kingdom of Thailand, celebrated the 24th Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia at formal reception hosted by Honorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian and Mrs. Sirin Artinian.
The National Day celebrations took place at the Grand Hyatt Erawan Bangkok and was themed “Wonders of Armenia” showcasingArmenian folklore, traditional music, traditional gastronomy, costumes and the sights and sounds, portraying famous landmarks as well as the architectural, cultural and historic portraits of Armenia.
The reception evening was realized in a setting where the entire reception hall was decorated and draped in with Armenian colors, specially arranged pictures and video presentations were aired to convey the meaning of “Wonders of Armenia” urging guests to Visit Armenia. At the foyer the celebratory backdrop featured the National Opera house, Etchmiadzin Cathedral, the National Museum, Armenian Dancers and the statue of legendary David of Sasoun. At the entrance of the main reception hall the “Armenian Exhibition Desk” featured the collection of Armenian traditional costumes, artifacts, a rare limited edition gold foiled Armenian manuscript of the bible, the legendary Armenian Ararat brandy collection range which is now available in Thailand commercially, along with the unique editions of the Armenian Pen.
The event was attended and in retrospect highly praised by the Royal Thai Governmental and Ministerial representatives, Diplomatic and Consular communities to the Kingdom of Thailand, the Thai board of Trade leadership representatives, Royal Thai parliamentarians, the Foreign Chambers of Commerce Presidents, Chairmen and Executive Directors, local and foreign journalists, expat business community representatives, the Armenian Community of Thailand and the esteemed family friends and close associates of Mr. Arto and Mrs. May Artinian and the Artinian family.
The ceremonial program entailed individual congratulatory messagesfrom the guests upon arrival, the congenial welcoming speech byHonorary Consul Mr. Arto Artinian who’s defining message “… make Armenia your next destination!. Visit Armenia” elaborating on the significance of the year being the centenary commemorative year of the Armenian Genocide, and further remarking on the 2015 realities, civic, economic and cultural prospects which Armenia is experiencing and the positive optimism for the next generation of dynamic Armenians’ role in the Silk Railroad of the decades to come, eventually leading to the Royal Anthem of the Kingdom of Thailand and a heartfelt toast and tribute to honor His Majesty the King of Thailand followed by the National Anthem of the Republic of Armenia,followed by the raising of the tributes to honor the President of the Republic of Armenia.
The formal reception ensued with positive moods with the guests appreciating the wonderful Armenian presentations and cuisine, cordially socializing to the enchanting moods and tunes of traditional Armenian music and dance.
