Armenia Agriculture Ministry Optimistic on Apricot Exports

The Minister of Agriculture of Armenia, Serko Garabedian, on Wednesday held a consultation with representatives of the country’s exporting companies, and to discuss current issues linked to start of the season of fresh fruit and vegetable exports.

The minister stressed that this agricultural year is plentiful in Armenia and especially a rich apricot and grape harvest is expected this year. He also attached a particular importance to export management.

Garabedian added that, with Armenia’s accession to the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union, favorable conditions have been created for exporting the country’s agricultural products.

Representatives of the exporting companies, for their part, informed that cabbage and potatoes are already being exported from Armenia.

The minister urged to intensify the works with farmers and to increase the types of fruits and vegetables being exported.
