Armenian President Armen Sarkissian had a telephone conversation today with First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, who stepped down from office on March 19.
According to the Armenian president’s office, Sarkissian and Nazarbayev have “warm personal relationship for many years”.
During the conversation Sarkissian emphasized Nazarbayev’s big contribution in the development of the collegial relations between Armenia and Kazakhstan and deepening of political, economic and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, according to the official readout.
President Sarkissian also attached importance to Nazarbayev’s significant role in various integration processes.
Sarkissian wished Nazarbayev good health and good luck for the strengthening of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and further progress of Kazakhstan.
Sarkissian also sent a cable to Nazarbayev.
Nursultan Nazarbayev continues serving as Chairman of the Security Council of Kazakhstan.
