President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today hosted the World Bank Country Manager for Armenia Sylvie Bossoutrot, the Presidential Office told Armenpress.
During the meeting a number of issues on the Armenia-World Bank cooperation agenda were discussed.
Highlighting the productive cooperation with the World Bank, the Armenian President said the work with international financial structures, the World Bank, is very important for Armenia. According to the President, the economic growth, stable and rapid development are the main tools to overcome poverty in the country. The ongoing joint programs with the World Bank should be directed for solving the existing issues through these tools.
In her turn Sylvie Bossoutrot said the Country’s Partnership Framework strategic document which defines the cooperation priorities for the next four years with Armenia is being prepared. It will be based on three pillars – boosting export and competitiveness, developing the human capital and environment and resource management.
President Sarkissian highlighted the development of high technologies, education and science for the country’s future and stated that his efforts in this context are directed for the promotion of high technologies and innovations, adding that there is a great potential for productive cooperation here.
