The lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament expects a draft agreement on the ratification of Armenia accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) to be submitted to its consideration within this week, Nikolay Samoseyko, head of the parliament’s committee on international affairs, told RIA Novosti on Monday.
Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan have already ratified the treaty on establishing the Eurasian Economic Union that comes into force on January 1, 2015. On October 10 these countries and Armenia signed an agreement on Armenia’s accession to the trade bloc.
The agreement is expected to be ratified by the parliaments of these countries before January 1. The Armenian parliament ratified it on December 4. The Russian parliament did so on December 10.
«The (draft) agreement has not been yet submitted to the parliament,» said Samoseiko. He added that the deputies expect it to come within this week.
