It is reported that seven car explosions occurred almost simultaneously in different neighborhood of Yerevan in the early morning hours of November 27.
The same day a murder attempt was carried against civil activist Gevorg Safarian. These cowardly attacks were directed against and aimed at intimidating activists close to the civil movement Nakhakhorhrtaran (Pre-Parliament). The degree of synchronization, the amount of information, and the manpower necessary to carry-out these manoeuvres require a highly organized and coordinated command center. The Armenian authorities should have no problem in finding those responsible of such repressive actions. Armenians everywhere cannot tolerate these violent tactics. Freedom of speech and opinion are fundamental values that need to be protected. Differences in opinions however divergent should not and cannot be silenced with these methods. It is hoped that the Armenian authorities will denounce these actions in no uncertain terms and do their utmost to find and bring to justice the perpetrators of such cowardly acts. It is also hoped that the Armenian Diaspora will unequivocally decry these violent and repressive tactics in the Motherland.
