The Armenian president highly praised the European Union’s assistance to the country as he received the head of the EU-Armenia Friendship Group in his office on Thursday.
Greeting Elen Teokharus, the president said that bilateral meetings on the level of officials are a good opportunity to discuss the future of Armenia-EU relations and consider questions of mutual interest.
He highlighted the importance of the European official’s personal contribution to the deepening and development of relations with Armenia, thanking all the members of the Friendship Group for their active, unbiased and consistent efforts.
The president also attached importance to Ms Teokharus’s visit to Nagorno-Karabakh, noting that she is one those European parliamentarians whose knowledge of the two-decades-old land dispute, its prehistory and present are not limited to hearsay information.
The European official, for her part, promised to continue the group’s active efforts towards promoting a further prosperity and progress in Armenia.
