This year’s World Cup was the 20th FIFA World Cup that was held in Brazil. It was the second time Brazil was hosting the World Cup, the first being in 1950.
There were 5 confederations AFC (4), CONCACAF (4), UEFA (13), CAF (5), CONMEBOL (6) and 32 participating teams. The venues were 12 in number (7 new and 5 renovated) in 12 cities that were selected for the tournaments. It’s interesting to mention that Algeria was the only Arab country who participated in the competition.
The winner of the World Cup 2014 was Germany that defeated runners-up Argentina 1-0 in the final match. The third place was for the Netherlands and the fourth was for Brazil.
I hope that Armenia will participate in the next FIFA World Cup which will be held in Russia, in 2018. Best of Luck Armenia and of course the rest of the teams too.
