Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan on November 27 received Lawrence Meredith, Director for Neighbourhood East and Institution Building at the European Commission, the deputy PM’s Office told Armenpress.
The meeting was also attended by Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin.
The deputy PM highly valued Armenia’s close cooperation with the EU and attached importance to the development of the relations with the Union at all directions. Lawrence Meredith said the EU will continue the support to ongoing reforms of the Armenian government.
At the request of guests Avinyan introduced more important directions of the reforms, the current opportunities and challenges. He touched upon the promotion of investments in Armenia. The deputy PM said the EU-Armenia investment forum is expected to take place in Europe in 2020. The sides discussed issues relating to the reforms in the fields of education, justice, energy efficiency, digitization and public administration.
