Photos of the 1st Armenian International Photography Festival were displayed today in the building and the yard of the Parliament of Armenia.
Vice Speaker of Parliament Lena Nazaryan in her remarks expressed hope that such events will be held more often in the Parliament.
“The works of photographers from 20 countries are displayed at the Festival. The Parliament agreed to host the Festival with pleasure, display in its yard the photos of state figures, as well as nature and cultural structures. This event is important both in terms of promoting photography as a branch of art and making the Parliament as a public area”, she said.
Photographers from 20 countries including Japan, Denmark, Italy, France, Russia, Belarus, Switzerland, USA, UAE and elsewhere are taking part in the 1st Armenian International Photography Festival. Photos will be displayed in 39 different locations across Yerevan, starting from Zvartnots Airport up to the Presidential Residence.
ARMENPRESS news agency will participate in the Festival, and jointly with Converse Bank and Hovhannes Tumanyan Museum the “Hovhannes Tumanyan’s Retrospect” event will be held in honor of the poet’s 150th anniversary of birth.
The Festival is being held under the auspices of the Yerevan City Hall and will last one month, until September 24.
