Pashinyan names new spokesperson

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has appointed former diplomat and former foreign ministry spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan to serve as his new spokesperson, the PM’s office told ARMENPRESS.

The position was vacated when Arman Yeghoyan was elected to parliament as MP.

Karapetyan served as foreign ministry spokesperson in the early 2000s during Vartan Oskanian’s tenure as FM.

Most recently he was in charge of the external relations department at the Armenian National Congress, a party led by former President of Armenia Levon Ter-Petrosyan.

UPDATE:

12:24 – Karapetyan said on Facebook that he is suspending his activities in the party because “public service implies certain written and unwritten limitations”. “I am grateful to Prime Minister Pashinyan for this proposal”, he said.

He led the External Relations Commission of the ANC party.
