CHLA HOSTS LUNCHEON FOR ARMENIAN AMBASSADORS

Nor Or, Los Angeles – On September 18, 2018, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles hosted a luncheon for the Armenian Ambassadors, committed members of the Armenian community dedicated to creating hope and building healthier futures for all children. Attending the event were His Eminence Archbishop Hovnan Derderian, Primate of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Church of North America, the Rev. Fr. Khajag Shahbazyan, Pastor of St. Leon Armenian Cathedral and ladies of the Agape Circle of the Western Diocese led by Mrs. Alice Chakrian.

A panel discussion of CHLA’s activities and involvement in the life of the community was moderated by Dr. Balkian, Chief Medical Director of Inpatient Operations.

The panelists were Omkar Kulkarni, CHLA’s first Chief Innovation Officer and the Co-Chair of the Digital Health Committee and member of the Telehealth Executive Committee; Dr. Jennifer Raymond, Clinical Diabetes Director and Vice Chair of the Executive Telehealth Committee and Dr. Thomas Lee – Director of The Vision Center and Chair of the Telehealth Executive Committee.

Referencing to the words of CHLA President and CEO Mr. Paul Viviano that Children’s Hospital Los Angeles creates hope, the Primate encouraged the active participation of the Armenian Ambassadors in instilling hope in the hearts of angels in the City of Angels.

On the auspicious occasion, a pledge of $50,000 to be paid over time was made by the Agape Circle of the Western toward the Armenian Ambassadors campaign.  Since 2015, Armenian Ambassa- dors have provided over $1 million in support for various programs and clinical areas at CHLA, ensuring that Children’s Hospital Los Angeles has the best resources to care for our children today, and for future generations.
