On December 9, a Holy Mass was served in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Hanno, Vietnam. The ceremony was organized by the RA Embassy in Vietnam, reports the RA MFA press service.

Among the participants were RA Ambassador to Vietnam Raisa Vardanyan, members of the Armenian-Vietnamese Friendship Group, representatives of local self-government bodies, intellectuals, Vietnamese and foreign visitors and journalists.

In his message addressed to the gathered, Archbishop Joseph Ngo Kuang Kiet of Hanno said the Catholic Church of Vietnam stands by the Armenian people’s side on the international day of remembrance and dignity of the victims of the crime of genocide and prevention of that crime.

During private talks with Archbishop of Hanno following the Holy Mass, Ambassador Raisa Vardanyan emphasized that the civilized mankind is well aware of the value of peace, yet there are countries that not only fail to understand the symbol of peace, but also continue to instill intolerance and lead a policy of denial.

According to Ambassador Vardanyan, the Armenians and the Vietnamese must combine their efforts in the fight against injustice. Vardanyan also said the Armenia people have shown the world with their own example that people can fight, overcome all the obstacles and achieve justice even after 100 years.
