President Serge Sarksian addressed the 70th Session of the United Nations General Assembly Tuesday and called on the international community to use “common sense” when assessing the Karabakh conflict, which saw an escalation of border attacks by Azerbaijani forces late last week and into the weekend.
In his remarks, Sarksian underscored Baku’s aggressive policy, highlighting his point by discussing the killing of three Armenian civilian women last week in the Tavush region of Armenia on the border with Azerbaijan.
He also used the dais to thank various world leaders and government for their efforts to commemorate the centennial of the Armenian Genocide this year, stressing Armenia’s commitment in helping the effort to prevent genocides around the world.
